Student Starpack Awards 2017 | Template box packaging & redo of sticker designs

Following from the previous feedback. I experimented with more of an variety of authentic pattern design for the sticker which will hold the lid for the box packaging. Again I stuck with the current colour scheme of 'New City Garden'. The gold/silver areas will be foiled to mirror the effect of the paper packaging which will have the typeface of the name of the place foiled as well. Below are the results:

Feedback
  • Majority of the feedback said that the more detail the design it looks more authentic. However this might be a problem, as there are a lot of details within the pattern it might be difficult to see it or print it off. The details might not come up when printed out.
  • Simplistic one looks the best, especially the top right pattern which is in gold and silver. Not too crowded just nice and clear!
  • Most of the feedback said that the designs on the right hand side are mostly suitable for the Chinese authentic style.
  • It would be nice to see both silver and gold stickers printed out.
  • Both shapes work really well with the pattern within the shape.
  • Most of my peers preferred the hexagon over the circle design.
  • The silver colour will really match the current colour of the takeaway name typeface.

Overall, the comments were mostly positive. I will only focus on the popular sticker designs to print out in digital design. I could potentially use the vinyl machine to print these stickers out this could be more quicker yet effective. However, I am unsure if the digital print will have metallic vinyl sheets. If not I will have to see if there is a possible colour which is similar.

Template for box packaging
During the previous feedback when I experimented with different shades of blue for the cover of the plastic box which contains the food.

I needed to measure the box to make a paper cover which will brand the takeaway. Then when the consumer has it they have the option to take the paper cover off and use the plastic box for their own use.

Measurements of the box:
Height - 5.5cm
Length - 11.7cm
Width - 6.4cm

Below is examples of a prototype paper box. I used masking tape to hold the paper prototype arms together.

The results of the paper prototype box worked well. The measurement that I made were correct, the only bits that needed a bit more off was the area that the lid can slide. This was 0.2cm width and 0.9cm length.

Different shade of blues for the box packaging

Once I have printed out the outline of the box template on these three shade of blue. I will put them against the plastic box and also foil the brand typeface.
