- I like the colour scheme of the red diary design and the wash out effect does show the use of it.
- I like the red design, however, everything on the cover seems to organised and arranged. As Adrian Mole is a young spotty teenager, I believe he would not be as tidy. Try and make the cover more disorder and messy.
- The photo film is too strong for the cover page. Especially the silhouette, it looks to much like a detective story than a story for a teenager.
- The children may be scared to pick up the book as the silhouette is quite scary for a child to pick up.
- Change the silhouette to an illustration of a cartoon of Adrian Mole, will look more approachable.
- Both typefaces suit the book cover and aims at the target audience.
- The shovel and pipe axe is quite off putting for a child audience, its best to get rid of that or replace with some else.
- I agree the white version of the book cover does but an off putting appearance to the children, it is quite intimidating. Again another mystery book than a children book.
- Add more British elements to the books look interesting and relates to the story.
- I like the border of the white cover book, its very colour and eye catching.
- I like the use of watercolours splashed on the book cover. But it might be too girly for young boys to grab the book. Maybe something more gender neutral?
- The school equipment border is interesting keep that feature
- I like the pen in the spine area, suits the cover photo.
- Maybe add some funny faces on the books, as Adrian Mole is a comedy book. The covers that you have made are too serious for my opinion.
- The colours on the white book cover is good, not so sure about the colourful splashed look - Adrian Mole is not artistic type of person.
- Add some nerdy elements on the book cover, broken glasses, games consoles, books, maths etc.
With these feedback from both peers and existing illustrators, I will follow these advice and redesign both my book covers.
