Studio Brief 02 - Collaborative Practice Brief | Fur for Animals Brief | Preparing the first Photo shoot

Preparing the Photo shoot - Aneta Leading
As we decided to take our owns photographs for this campaign Aneta has done a research on already existing photographs for fur for animals campaigns.  It gave her an idea of how she want the model/ photo shoot to look like as before taking any photographs we should prepare everything for photo shoot.

The first photographs which grabbed the groups attention were the scary ones with women wearing a fur coat and holding a knife which has a lot of blood on it. It really inspired us to create something like this as it is quite similar to the work done by 'Fur for animals' campaign. The posters are done by IndyAct brand and photographs has been taken by Tejal Patni. The purpose of this campaign is to educate or convert every man, woman, and child in our to end the suffering of fur bearing animals. To influence compassionate citizens to make conscientious decisions when purchasing what could be offending merchandize.

The second approach which the group has found is about 'I'd Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur' done by PETA. The photographs are of the naked woman successfully communicating the message and the slogan. It gave us an idea to take similar photos but of the model holding a real rabbit. We all decide and agreed that we are not thinking about going only with this idea as there is lots of already existing posters and photographs like this.

The women on the photographs it is Annie Yi a famous actor and signer. Annie Yi is a spokesperson for PETA. She is willing to be the advocate fighting against fur. She said she used to wear fur, but after seeing the cruelty to animals when making fur clothes, she decided not to wear fur anymore.
"Even the short fur we wear around our necks, the fur still came from killing. Animals and humans both have lives. Just because we think we are more developed than some animals, does not mean we have the right to kill them."

The third approach is friendly showing the 'natural harmony between human and bears' - photographer Olga Barantseva. The photographs has been taken in the field (forest) creating an interesting and suitable background. The message created thought the photographs is very clear. On the first photograph woman is wearing the fur and cuddling a bear and on the second photograph, instead of wearing the fur shes is cuddled up by the bear.
