Studio Brief 02 - Development Stage 1 sketches to digital designs

In this design sheet it shows my digital and development work of the sketches I previously did. This is more focus on the ‘Beyond’ idea as my self branding project. The digital work
of the logo shows how simple and my minimalistic style. Thus this can show how this
beyond logo can have more development to it due its flexibility and easily it can change, alter and adapt to different styles. Which is similar to me which demonstrates how I have come across with a lots of different style of art that could inspire me and alternate my designs.

Some of my logo designs are ambiguous as I was being too confident with my design ideas. This could come back to me in the nearer future as a design that I could reference back for other projects. Thus this could imply how I am still developing and changing by the times go out.

There is also my colour choices and font choices that I showed in a logo design board. The colours that I have chosen is: Gold, silver, blue, white and black. The reason for this is because the colours that I have chosen represent me as an individual, for example the colour Gold shows my success, achievement and triumph. Associated with abundance and prosperity, luxury and quality, prestige and sophistication, value and elegance, the colour psychology of gold implies affluence, material wealth and extravagance. Silver highlights a feminine energy; it is related to the moon and the ebb and flow of the tides - it is fluid, emotional, sensitive and mysterious. Blue presents of trust and peace. It can suggest loyalty and integrity as well as conservatism and frigidity. White coneys its most complete and pure, the colour of perfection. The colour meaning of white is purity, innocence, wholeness and completion. And black symbolises is the colour of the hidden, the secretive and the unknown, creating an air of mystery. It keeps things bottled up inside, hidden from the world. But overall it is portrays me me being like a star (concept). The more I learn the more I develop within the work that I produce. This why I might experiment with metallic foiling and using heat transfer to do this by testing it.

Because my self branding is based on how I moved to different environments Manchester to Leeds, it shows how I have moved more my comfort area. To widen more of my work, especially by doing this experimentation of foil heat transferringThis also indicates my journey through this process in life as I am maturing and thinking in a more sophisticated manner

The typeface I have used are Helvetica CY and Futura because they are modern, clean, simple, informal, easy to read and understand like I am as an individual graphic designer. Reasoning of this type of typeface for my Self branding logo is that Helvetica - It's over 50 years old, it is the most widely used font ever, and has become the subject if its own movie. This is the world's most recognisable font. Its relevance in design through the years and even today seems unbeatable. The appeal for a distinctive, professional and timeless typeface has never dwindled and it keeps gaining more followers day by day. From airlines, to car companies to the largest software company, Helvetica's use in many logos throughout the world and remains strong.

And Futura - Futura (and its variants) have become an extremely popular typeface for
countless corporate logos, commercial products, films and advertisement for years. In fact, its was so popular that certain art directors had a boycott for its use in the Art Directors Against Futura Extra Bold Condensed, published in 1992's TDC Typography 13. Regardless, Futura remains one of the most used (and loved) sans-serif fonts today with no signs of slowing down.
